1-on-1 Post-Processing Online Workshops

''Recently I participated in several online post-processing workshops given by Adrien Mauduit. High quality is the best summary I can give, both for the topics included, as for the excellent way to conduct them. The technique I have already learned is applied in my post-processing. I recommend both participants and experts to participate in Adrien's online workshops. Thank you, Maestro!!!'' Xavier from Facebook reviews

We offer 1-on-1 online astrophotography workshops via Zoom throughout the week.

This workshop is offered all year round. It is a one-on-one, appointment-like, 1.5 hour online class (Zoom) that teaches you post-processing for astrophotography. There are two levels (beginners and advanced) and three subjects you can choose for a single class (astro photo, astro panoramas or astro time-lapses). Those are detailed below.

To proceed, please book a slot in our schedule (click on 'Book now'), and let us know (via a separate email or at the start of the session) the desired level and subject. All levels and subjects are the same duration (1h30) and price (NOK 1500), and we are very flexible when it comes to the classes. We usually accommodate your needs and will customize the session according to your skills to satisfy you. During the session, the screen can also be recorded and sent to you afterwards, so you don't have to worry about notes!

For each level and subject, you will learn to use Adobe Lr, Ps, along with other softwares that we can touch on (PTGui Pro, APP, PixInsight, Nebulosity 4 for Mac, Timelapse+, Lr Timelapse, Topaz...). Depending on the level and subjects, we will go over our workflow for each, teaching you techniques like stacking, blending, histogram stretching, color management, sharpening, star reduction, stitching, timelapse assembly and much more.

Please get in touch with us to set up a session at your convenience. Once this step is done, we will send you the session details (date and Zoom link). The sessions are one-on-one, so if you want to invite one or more people to the session (provided they have the same level), please send us an email to establish time and pricing. Please refrain from booking for the same day (at least a day's notice) as our schedule is tight. Thank you.

Should you have any question regarding the workshops that we offer, please send us an email.

NB:
PLEASE NOTE that for these sessions, we have a no refund policy. We can try and reschedule at your convenience if an issue occurs with the original date. Please make sure that you really want to attend before booking. If you are unsure, ask us in an email.

We look forward to having you in one of our sessions!

Enhancing astrophotos: Beginners

Great compositions can be hard to capture but sometimes processing single astrophotographs can be even more challenging because you will be struggling between bringing up contrasts, minimizing noise while preserving details. During this workshop Adrien will break down his workflow step-by-step as an example, teach about the basics of Adobe Lightroom, talk about balanced composition and advise you on how you should use the adjustment sliders to get a great-looking final astro picture. You can chose for us to work one of your picture or one of ours. For the latter, please send us your material in advance of the workshop. This session is for beginners only and will only teach about the basics of Lightroom. It will NOT include things like stacking, blending, local adjustments, gradient tool, advanced coloring, star reduction techniques found in other softwares (go to the advanced workshop). We can also touch on the basics of Adobe Photoshop if you so desire.

Enhancing astrophotos: Advanced

In this workshop, we will spend time on how to use advanced tools to make the most out of your RAW files. For advanced workshops, we usually are very flexible and adapt to our clients' skills and needs. Upon request, we cover some techniques like stacking (Nebulosity 4, Astro Pixel Processor, calibration frames...), advanced histogram stretching, color calibration, background extraction, sharpening, masking, locals adjustments, vignetting, gradient tools, color channel calibration and optimization for 'true' milky way colors, star reduction processes and last finishing touches for a professional look!  We will use a wide array of software and can easily include some that you might wonder over but never dare touch (like PixInsight!): Astro Pixel Processor, PixInsight, Nebulosity 4 for Mac, Topaz Lab plugins... You can chose for us to work one of your picture or one of ours. For the latter, please send us your material in advance of the workshop.

Astropanorama basics: Beginners

In this workshop, we cover the basics of astro-panorama editing. We will cover preparing your panels in Adobe Lightroom, quickly go over stitching them (PTGui Pro or Adobe PS CC). Note that we will be working on a fully stitched RAW panorama image to continue the rest of the session, the primary focus being the post-editing of this photo and not the stitching part. We will then go over some basic post adjustments in Lr playing around with sliders and local adjustments. Also keep in mind that we will exclusively work on a milky way panorama. Additionally remember that this session is for beginners only and will only teach about the basics of Lr. It will NOT include things like advanced coloring or star reduction techniques (go to the advanced workshop). You can chose for us to work one of your picture or one of ours. He has personally crafted a seamless workflow in order to get the best out of each single astro-picture without compromising details and colors. During the session, we will cover basic and advanced techniques to batch edit photos (including medium-format astrophotos) in Lr, export them, go through TDLF (noise and flicker reduction), assemble them (Sequence for mac), choose the adequate format, quality and frame rate, and some polishing techniques in Final Cut Pro X. It is also a possibility to do the whole process using LrTimelapse. Please note that this workshop is more suitable for Macs than PC, but you if you are using a PC, you can still follow and find similar softwares/techniques. You can chose for us to work one of your sequences or one of ours.
